Introduction
Testex NDT, a leading provider of non-destructive testing services, is committed to providing the best welfare facilities for its on-site teams. The company needed a sustainable solution that could enhance workforce welfare while reducing environmental impact.

The Requirement
Testex NDT required welfare units that offered essential amenities for their workers, such as a canteen, dry room and toilet. The challenge was to find a solution that would minimise environmental impact while maintaining a high level of comfort for the workforce on-site.
The Solution
In partnership with ecowelfare, Testex NDT introduced a solar-powered welfare unit to its operations. A 12ft unit was equipped with a canteen, a dry room and a toilet. This energy-efficient unit reduced reliance on traditional diesel-powered systems, aligning with the company’s sustainability goals while ensuring that their workers had the necessary facilities on-site.
The Conclusion
- Zero fuel costs – Fully solar-powered, eliminating the need for diesel generators.
- Over 82 litres of fuel saved – Lowering both operational costs and environmental impact.
- More than 262kg of CO2 emissions avoided – Contributing to Testex NDT’s sustainability efforts.
- Improved workforce welfare – Providing workers with a comfortable, modern and fully-equipped welfare facility.
