Introduction
Hawkland is a specialist construction and development company known for delivering high-quality, sustainable building solutions. As part of their dedication to efficiency and environmental responsibility, they required a welfare solution that would support their workforce while minimising their carbon footprint.

The Requirement
Providing reliable, comfortable welfare facilities on-site was essential for Hawkland. Traditional diesel-powered units resulted in high fuel costs and a significant environmental impact. The company needed a sustainable alternative that could deliver necessary amenities while aligning with their green initiatives.
The Solution
Hawkland partnered with ecowelfare to install a 12ft fully solar-powered welfare unit. This unit featured a canteen for staff to take breaks and prepare meals, as well as twin toilets to maintain hygiene standards. By eliminating reliance on diesel generators, the welfare unit offered a cost-effective and eco-friendly solution, improving both efficiency and employee wellbeing.
The Conclusion
- Zero fuel costs – Fully solar-powered, eliminating reliance on diesel.
- Over 159 litres of fuel saved – Reducing operational expenses and environmental impact.
- More than half a tonne of CO2 emissions avoided – Supporting Hawkland’s sustainability objectives.
- Improved workforce welfare – Providing a well-equipped, comfortable space for on-site staff.
