Introduction
VOLSEN, a forward-thinking company specialising in the delivery of high-quality services, is dedicated to improving the welfare of its workforce while supporting sustainability initiatives. In line with their environmental goals, they sought to upgrade their on-site welfare facilities by adopting an eco-friendlier solution.

The Requirement
VOLSEN needed welfare units that provided essential amenities such as a toilet, dry room and canteen, while also being more sustainable than traditional diesel-powered options. The company was looking for an energy-efficient solution that would reduce fuel consumption and minimise its carbon footprint.
The Solution
Working with ecowelfare, VOLSEN introduced a solar-powered welfare unit into their operations. The 12ft unit was equipped with a canteen, dry room and toilet, offering the team a comfortable and self-sufficient workspace that significantly reduced fuel reliance and lowered operating costs.
The Conclusion
- Zero fuel costs – Fully solar-powered, eliminating the need for diesel.
- Over 112 litres of fuel saved – Reducing both operational expenses and environmental impact.
- More than 356kg of CO2 emissions avoided – Helping VOLSEN meet its sustainability objectives.
- Improved workforce welfare – Providing a modern, comfortable facility for on-site teams.
