Introduction
Earth Environmental & Geotechnical is a specialist consultancy providing environmental, geotechnical and geological services. With a strong commitment to sustainability and responsible site management, they required welfare facilities that would meet the needs of their team while minimising their environmental impact.
The Requirement
Ensuring proper welfare facilities for site teams is essential for compliance, workforce wellbeing and productivity. Traditional welfare units, which rely on diesel generators, contribute to high fuel costs and carbon emissions. Earth Environmental & Geotechnical sought a sustainable solution that would align with their environmental values while providing necessary on-site facilities.
The Solution
To address their needs, Earth Environmental & Geotechnical partnered with ecowelfare to implement a 12ft fully solar-powered welfare unit. This unit featured a canteen for meal breaks, two toilets for sanitation and modern amenities designed for a comfortable and efficient workspace. The solar-powered design eliminated the need for fossil fuels, reducing both costs and emissions.
The Conclusion
- Zero fuel costs – Fully solar-powered, eliminating reliance on diesel.
- Over 76 litres of fuel saved – Reducing operational expenses and environmental impact.
- More than 243 tonnes of CO2 emissions avoided – Supporting Earth Environmental & Geotechnical’ s sustainability goals.
- Improved workforce welfare – Providing a comfortable and fully equipped on-site facility.
