Bristol
Introduction
Bristol & Avon Transport is a leading provider of haulage, waste management and aggregate supply services across the UK. With a strong commitment to sustainability, the company continuously seeks innovative solutions to minimise its environmental impact while ensuring the efficiency and comfort of its workforce.

The Requirement
As part of their sustainability drive, Bristol & Avon Transport needed an on-site welfare solution that aligned with their green initiatives while providing essential facilities for their team. Traditional diesel-powered welfare units were expensive to run and did not support their carbon reduction targets. They required a spacious, energy-efficient welfare unit that could accommodate a larger workforce while minimising environmental impact.
The Solution
To meet these needs, Bristol & Avon Transport partnered with ecowelfare to introduce a fully solar-powered 24ft welfare unit designed to accommodate up to 15 people. This state-of-the-art unit features a canteen, office space and two toilets, ensuring that workers have access to high-quality, comfortable facilities while eliminating the need for fossil fuels. The self-sustaining unit provided a practical and environmentally friendly solution that enhanced on-site welfare and operational efficiency.
The Conclusion
- Zero fuel costs – Fully solar-powered, removing reliance on costly diesel.
- Over 114 litres of fuel saved – Reducing operational expenses and environmental impact.
- Over 363kg of CO2 emissions prevented – Supporting Bristol & Avon Transport’s sustainability commitments.
- Enhanced workforce welfare – Providing a comfortable space with canteen, office and sanitation facilities, improving productivity and team morale.
