If we told you that a new festival recently launched… in a portable toilet, would you believe us? Well, it’s time to sit up and start believing. When you think of festivals, what springs to mind? Music? Alcohol? Festival clothes? Wellington Boots perhaps? Well, for the most part, Hunter Wellies have become synonymous with open air music and free flowing drink and why not. A woman (and man’s) staple outfit for attending the many festivals up and down the UK has long included the wellington boot and since a fashion house took over the production and manufacture of Hunter (making it much more fashionable), Hunter has become THE boot of the festival. It’s for this reason that it makes perfect sense for the brand to create such a cool and individual concept as the portable toilet festival.
Hunter, famous for it’s amazingly “out there” boots (along with a considerable number of traditional styles of course) created what’s now been dubbed the worlds smallest festival in a portable toilet at it’s Regent Street store – because why not? The “tardis-like” experience launched on June 9th and has proven to be a hugely popular experience. Those who’ve entered have been promised a tour of their very favourite British festival and that experience even includes grass, live music and of course…MUD!
If you’d like to take a peek at this fab little pop-up festival in a can (literally) then you’ll need to pop along to the Regents Street store before the end of June as it’s then that the portable toilet festival will be leaving for a tour of the rest of the UK. If the truly authentic, mini festival experience isn’t enough for you then you’ll be pleased to know that Hunter Wellies will also be offering a truck load of giveaways to boot – pardon the pun. The prizes and giveaways will include festival essentials such as wet wipes, ponchos and even wellie socks and gift vouchers meaning you’ll be even more prepared for the likes of V Festival that’s taking place in Chelmsford this August.
So what can you do while you’re in there? Well, dance of course but that’s not all. There’s also a GIF photo booth machine that’s been installed too to allow you to create your very own festival themed filters and stickers. This has been created especially by Hunter and GIPHY Studios. It’s by sharing these GIFs online that allow you the chance to win the “ultimate festival pack”. If however, you can’t make it into the city to check out the brand new mini-wonder then you can still enjoy a little part of it by downloading the GIPHY Cam app later this month to take advantage of the many filters and stickers available.
This is quite possibly one of the most exciting ways in which we’ve seen a portable toilet being used and we can’t wait to take a peek at it ourselves! Want to try and create your own? Well you could always hire one of ours and watch live videos of V festival on your iPad although we’re not sure it would have quite the same effect!
