Introduction
Evri is one of the UK’s leading parcel delivery companies, committed to providing efficient logistics services while reducing its environmental impact. To support its operational teams, Evri required a sustainable welfare solution that would enhance on-site working conditions while aligning with its green initiatives.
The Requirement
Ensuring high-quality welfare facilities for staff working across various sites was essential for productivity, compliance and wellbeing. Traditional diesel-powered welfare units presented challenges such as high fuel costs and unnecessary carbon emissions. Evri sought an environmentally friendly and cost-effective alternative that would meet the needs of its workforce while supporting sustainability targets.
The Solution
To address these needs, Evri partnered with ecowelfare to install a 12ft fully solar-powered welfare unit. This unit featured a canteen for staff breaks and meal preparation, along with two toilets to ensure adequate sanitation facilities. By eliminating the reliance on diesel generators, this welfare solution reduced running costs while significantly cutting emissions, providing a comfortable and practical space for employees.
The Conclusion
- Zero fuel costs – Fully solar-powered, eliminating reliance on diesel.
- Over 159 litres of fuel saved – Reducing operational expenses and environmental impact.
- More than half a tonne of CO2 emissions avoided – Supporting Evri’s commitment to sustainability.
- Improved workforce welfare – Providing a well-equipped, comfortable space for on-site staff.
