Want to know how do portable toilets work?

As we often get asked the question by customers looking to hire portable toilets for the first time of “how do they actually work?” we thought we would give you an incite into the basic operation of a standard portable loo and some basic portable toilet parts.
Today nearly all portable toilets work off the same principal world over which is a basic flush pump operated by hand or foot that re circulates portable toilet water and portable loo chemicals to create a toilet “flush” system by delivering a jet of water and chemical via a pipe from the water and waste holding tank to the back of the pump, through the pump valve system then out from another pipe from the pump to the back of the portable toilet pan.

Although the portable chemical loo is flushing through its tank of water and chemical to create the flush over time with use the toilet system will start to flush and recirculate not only the water and chemical in the holding tank but the waste that is being created from use, this may sound unhygienic but the specialist chemicals that are initially used that are mixed with the first charge of water have been developed over many years to break down the waste and water and keep the toilet and internal tank smelling fresh for up to 7 days with average use.

Over the years we have formulated that one charge of water and chemical will provide enough continued use for 7 persons using the toilet in an average 40 hour week with additional chemical toilets being required should the number of persons and hours exceed this amount, for more information on portable toilet servicing and chemical toilet repairs please see the following links:

In the mean time if you have a portable loo or chemical toilet that needs repairing or a broken flusher that needs replacing always give our team a call as we carry a large stock of replacement portable toilet parts and are also available for repairs and maintenance to your own portable loo with pumps from from £95+VAT 0800 61 22 515.
