Introduction
SDE Group, a leading provider of bespoke design, manufacturing and installation solutions, is committed to operational efficiency and sustainability. To enhance on-site welfare while reducing its carbon footprint, the company sought an eco-friendly welfare solution.

The Requirement
SDE Group required welfare facilities that offered essential amenities while aligning with their sustainability goals. Traditional diesel-powered units were not in line with their commitment to greener solutions, prompting the search for an energy-efficient alternative.
The Solution
In partnership with ecowelfare, SDE Group implemented four solar-powered welfare units. Three 12ft single toilet units were equipped with a canteen, a toilet and a dry room, while the fourth 12ft unit featured a canteen and two toilets. These innovative solutions provided a fully self-sufficient, eco-friendly workspace, significantly reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
The Conclusion
- Zero fuel costs – Fully solar-powered, eliminating reliance on diesel.
- Over 432 litres of fuel saved – Lowering operational expenses and environmental impact.
- More than 1.3 tonnes of CO2 emissions avoided – Supporting SDE Group’s sustainability objectives.
- Enhanced workforce welfare – Delivering comfortable, modern and well-equipped spaces for on-site teams.
