Introduction
KTL is a market-leading provider of engineering and network deployment services, supporting critical infrastructure in the telecommunications and power industries across Ireland and the UK. With a track record of delivering high-quality solutions to some of the most complex and large-scale projects in the sector, KTL places a strong emphasis on innovation, safety and sustainability.
As part of their ongoing efforts to improve environmental performance and prioritise employee welfare, KTL continuously seeks smarter, more sustainable alternatives to traditional site operations.

The Requirement
KTL manages a wide range of project sites, often in demanding and remote environments. Ensuring access to reliable and sustainable welfare facilities was critical to maintaining staff wellbeing and productivity. Traditional diesel-powered units were not only costly but also misaligned with KTL’s commitment to reducing their carbon footprint.
The Solution
KTL partnered with ecowelfare to deploy two 12ft solar-powered welfare units, each designed for seven people and equipped with a canteen and toilet. These compact, all-in-one units delivered comfort and practicality, eliminating the reliance on fuel-powered systems. With built-in canteen and hygiene amenities, they supported on-site teams regardless of weather or location.
The Conclusion
- Zero fuel costs – 100% solar-powered, eliminating diesel usage.
- Over 100 litres of fuel saved – Reducing operational expenses and environmental impact.
- 318kg of CO2 emissions avoided – Supporting A&M Fencing’s sustainability commitments.
- Improved efficiency – Teams remained well-supported with on-site amenities.
