Introduction
Fenchurch Facilities is a specialist service provider offering high-quality facility management solutions. With a strong focus on efficiency and sustainability, they required an eco-friendly welfare solution that would enhance working conditions while minimising environmental impact.

The Requirement
Providing well-equipped welfare facilities on-site was essential for maintaining productivity, compliance and workforce wellbeing. Traditional diesel-powered welfare units presented challenges such as high fuel costs and carbon emissions. Fenchurch Facilities sought a sustainable, cost-effective alternative that aligned with their environmental goals while ensuring their workforce had access to essential amenities.
The Solution
To meet these needs, Fenchurch Facilities partnered with ecowelfare to install a 12ft fully solar-powered welfare unit. This unit featured a canteen for meal breaks, a toilet for sanitation and a drying room for added convenience. By eliminating reliance on diesel, the unit significantly reduced operational costs while supporting the company’s sustainability initiatives.
The Conclusion
- Zero fuel costs – Fully solar-powered, eliminating reliance on diesel.
- Over 76 litres of fuel saved – Reducing operational expenses and environmental impact.
- More than 243kg of CO2 emissions avoided – Supporting Fenchurch Facilities’ sustainability objectives.
- Improved workforce welfare – Providing a comfortable, well-equipped space for the team on-site.
