Introduction
Bell Group is one of the UK’s leading property services contractors, specialising in painting, decorating and maintenance across the country. Committed to sustainability and innovation, the company continually seeks eco-friendly solutions to enhance operations and reduce environmental impact.

The Requirement
With teams operating across multiple sites, Bell Group required an on-site welfare solution that was both sustainable and practical. Traditional diesel-powered welfare units were costly and did not align with the company’s goal of reducing carbon emissions. A spacious, energy-efficient welfare unit was needed to provide staff with essential facilities while minimising environmental impact and operational costs.
The Solution
Bell Group partnered with ecowelfare to introduce a fully solar-powered 16ft welfare unit, designed to accommodate up to 12 people. The unit featured a canteen and two toilets, ensuring staff had access to comfortable and hygienic facilities while eliminating reliance on fossil fuels. This self-sufficient unit enabled teams to remain productive and maintain high welfare standards across various sites.
The Conclusion
- Zero fuel costs – Fully solar-powered operation, eliminating diesel reliance.
- Over 401 litres of fuel saved – Reducing operational expenses and environmental impact.
- Over 1.26 tonnes of CO2 emissions avoided – Supporting Bell Group’s sustainability objectives.
- Improved workforce wellbeing – Providing a dedicated canteen and sanitation facilities for enhanced comfort and efficiency
