Portable toilet hire for the ugliest building In Britain

If you live in or around the Chelmsford area, you’re probably no doubt aware of what’s been dubbed the “ugliest building in Britain”. Marrable House in Great Baddow, voted the ugliest building in Chelmsford by Essex Chronicle readers has been the bane in most resident’s sides. So much so in fact that even the parish council planning committee chairman Andrew Sosin admitted residents would be extremely pleased by the demolition of the “appalling” eyesore, even going so far as to say that it was an absolute “monstrosity and everybody dislikes the building”. With this in mind, it’s no wonder then that the news of the building’s demolition has received such positive reviews.

The redundant and now somewhat vandalised building will be reduced to rubble thanks to Weston Homes plc though it should be noted that this won’t have been the first development application bought in for the building dubbed one of the worst examples of planning consent when it was first erected in the 60’s. Back in 2010, the parish council rejected Murana Properties’ plan to create two care homes along with Rubicon West’s plan for 60 care flats later that same year. It wasn’t all rejection however as a plan was actually accepted in 2011. Sadly, much to the residents annoyance, the developer didn’t follow through.

Now it would seem however, that plans are afoot once again for the ugliest building in Britain in the form of 53 flats. Two buildings will be built, one containing 17 flats and another containing 36. They’ll also be a 66 space car park too, but that’s not what’s going to make this development stand out. When asked about the development, Mr Weston had this to say, “The thing that’s going to set it apart is the open space around it. It’s very green and I’m absolutely certain the complete development will be one to be proud of.”

With such ambitious plans afoot for this now famous Chelmsford development, it’s no wonder it’s now making the headlines. Of course, such a big development calls for a reliable and trustworthy service, which is why they came to us here at euroloo their trusted supplier for the past 10 years to provide them with their portable toilets onsite and we couldn’t be more excited to be a part of something so pivotal in our own home town. Today, we were lucky enough to deliver a number of portable toilets over to the new construction site to be used by Northeast Demolition, the company that looks to have landed the now famous job.

The 53 flats, surrounded by plush green lawns are indeed a little way into the future and at the moment, mere drawings but it’s something we simply can’t wait to see unfold here with others major developments planned for Great Baddow its a case of watch this space.
