Here at euroloo HQ we couldn’t be more excited for tomorrow night. As you may well know from previous blog posts or signage on fighters before now, euroloo sponsor a number of professional fighters. We’ve previously spoken about Isaac Lowe and of course, the most recent world champion, the great Tyson Fury but this week the focus has changed. This week we’ll be keeping our eyes on the phenomenal Jake Ball and we couldn’t be more pleased about it.

Jake, the former GB amateur boxer, who recently turned professional, found his passion for the rather physical sport at a very tender age. Following his brother, whom at the age of nine or ten, enjoyed boxing at his local gym, he discovered a great talent hidden within himself. Getting a taste for the sport was to be his making and it was there his journey began. Instead of having fun with his brother and friends, Jake had set his sights on becoming as good, if not better than his idols Sugar Ray Leonard or even Mohammad Ali. To do this, he worked tirelessly just to be able to carry himself like they did, “I loved the way they showboated in the ring. They both had amazing speed and footwork.” He wanted to emulate their grace and poise as well as throw a punch like them, he wanted to be the full package after all.

As an amateur, he won a number of national titles including the CYP and Junior ABA titles. On top of that, he also happened to fight for his country on a number of occasions before he was selected to fight for Team GB back in 2013. Of the 4 class A international tournaments that Team GB sent him to, he came home with a medal in each.

We have the utmost confidence in Jake, not because of his successful past but also because of the training he puts in now. While other fighters might begin to loosen the reins a little and enjoy the success they’ve had so far, Jake carries on with the determination that got him this far. The intensity levels have increased for him hugely but he’s only too willing. Sparring with the likes of IBF World Super Middleweight Champion James DeGale and even training with Jimmy Mac, he’s now gearing himself toward endurance in order to prepare for the step up to six rounds. While his previous fights were all about speed, keeping himself out of range until he was ready to move inward packing a punch, he’s now having to learn a new set of skills including hurting his opponent as best he can. One can only imagine what a real turning point this is for him in his career.

When asked about ambitions and dreams, Jake has one goal in mind and that’s to claim the world title for himself. Despite his big dreams, he’s only too happy to start from the very bottom and work his way up with every single punch. What’s more, we can’t wait to watch his journey to success. Come on Jake! We know you can do it!
